The pottery kit comes with video and written instructions to create a vase with the coiling technique. A dried flowers bouquet is included and will be perfect for the vase you made!
The dried flowers are provided by Madame Fleurs, a Berlin-based small business. The bouquet is small (around 25 cm x 12 cm) and fits in a small vase.
With the video instructions (in German and English), you will learn a hand-building technique (coiling) and will be able to create a beautiful vase with air-dry clay.
This is a perfect gift for a birthday or any occasion at all! We don't need a reason to gift flowers right?
If this is a gift, you can personalise the A6 gift card with any text in any language. Just let me know at checkout.
Want to make this a clay party? Order an additional kit for you so you can make a vase too! The additional kit does NOT come with flowers and can be sent to a different address (make sure to add a note at checkout so I can send it to the right person).

Air-dry clay does not need to be fired in a kiln and is very easy to work with.
After working with it, it will dry out completely in around 3 to 4 days (depending on the thickness of the piece). Once dry, the piece can be decorated with acrylic paints and then made water resistant with a sealant.
You can get the sealant separately here: https://www.meshandcloth.com/products/sealant-for-air-dry-clay-50ml
IMPORTANT: even if apply sealant to the clay, pieces made with air-dry clay are NOT water or food safe. They should be use for decorative purposes only.
The kit ships with tracking. The tools provided in the box may vary from the photos, depending on our suppliers.
Packaging: The kit and flowers are packed into 2 separate boxes and then they are combined into 1 bigger box. There will be no branding outside of the box, so it's a nice surprise!

FAQ
Questions and Answers
-
Do the kits come with instructions?
Yes! The kits come with a 26-page professionally printed bilingual (English and German) booklet with lots of tips, projects and ideas. It's a mini pottery class in itself.
-
Do I need any additional materials to work with the pottery kits?
The kits contain all the tools and materials required. You only need some water and a cloth for your work surface.
-
What is air-dry clay?
The air-dry clay in our kits is completely natural clay that can be left to air-dry and does not require a kiln to be fired.
-
Is air-dry clay durable?
Air-dry clay is durable depending on what you make from it. Very thin items may break more easily, but as long as you treat your piece well, a piece made from air-dry clay is very durable.
-
Can air-dry clay be used for food? Is it foodsafe?
Since pieces made from air-dry clay are not fired in a kiln and are not glazed, they are not food safe or water tight. So they should not be used with food or water.
-
Can air-dry clay get wet?
Since they are not fired, pieces with air-dry clay should not get wet. Applying sealant helps with making the piece more resistant to splashes but it should still not be immersed in water. If you make a vase with air-dry clay, you should only use it for dried flowers.
-
Can I burn the air-dry clay in my oven at home for faster drying?
The air-dry clay in our kits can be burned in the oven, but I advise against firing clay in the same oven you use for food preparation and consumption. Therefore, I would recommend to just air-dry the clay.
-
How long will it take for my air-dry clay piece to be completely dry?
It depends a bit on the size of your piece and how thick its walls are, but air-dry clay usually dries out completely in two to four days.
-
Can I use it for food, water or drinks?
No! Air-dry clay is not safe for either food or liquids, even with an applied sealant.
