There is no atmosphere and therefore no wind on the moon, which is why we can see, with our sophisticated telescopes, craters that have been created millions of years ago. The craters on this vase were made by chemistry and a kiln. They are of varying size, unpredictable, and, like the craters on the moon, here to stay forever.
"There is no wind on the moon" is unique and was built by hand, without a wheel, over the course of a few days. Once it survived the first firing at 960C, I glazed with my lava glaze.
Another two days in the kiln, reaching 1240C, and the minerals in the glaze melted and fused with the clay to create this unique beauty.
The vase is functional and measures around 19cm in height and 11 at its widest point.
All the glazes are formulated and made by me.
